What is CHAMOY?
Chamoy is a Mexican fruit sauce / fruit paste made out of hibiscus blossom, prunes and dehydrated apricots, different types of chili powder (spiciness level is very enjoyable I promise), lemon (the green one of course) and sugar for a delicious contrast between sweet, spicy and tangy. This combination of flavors is very typical of Mexican sweets, sauces and snacks and is very popular throughout Mexico!
How could i enjoy chamoy?
Chamoy can be enjoyed in many ways, for example by the spoonful (a wooden spoon is included in each Chamoy Gaumenpepp). Another option is to consume it as a dip with your favorite snacks (chips, popcorn, peanuts), spread it on cheese, bread or crackers.
It goes also great as a secret ingredient to create cocktails with Tequila and/or Mezcal like a Margarita.
And my favorite way is to dip it on fruits (e. g. mango, strawberry, apple, orange, mango etc.).
